Digital Painting

I have developed a sudden interest in digital painting, despite me being colour blind and since it doesn't really actually require drawing for me so i find it comfortable for me to extend my skills instead of just being a programmer. Having basic Digital Painting skills is helpful for me in case i have to edit some file if an artist messed up.

the first Digital painting that i did was a trying to understand the concept of light and how it goes around an object which in this case is a sphere, cylinder and a cube. the painting was first taught doing in grayscale as colours will be complicated

for this painting is trying to understand that different colours depending if its warm or cool colour will affect how the light goes around the material.

For this file, i have to study how to create a material like skin, tinfoil, metallic.

This is my own attempt on digital painting. The drawing of this picture was made from my friend, Illa Haziqin, and i had her permission to use this picture and digital paint it. The theme that i was going for is pop art that commonly use bright colours and even contrasting colours.

This is a activity to identify which is tone of the colour and by selecting those colours, i was able to achieve this silhouette  from the reference picture above it.

This is a basic character design of my protagonist that i did for one of my assignments. since im not skilled at drawing, i use my basic painting skills to slowly paint the shape of the character and weapon without any use of outlines.

And this is the protagonist's weapon.

 This is the Antagonist.
